Why separate memorials usually work better than one combined one
The most common mistake is folding several people (or a person and a pet) into a single memorial. It feels simpler at first, but photos and entries quickly become hard to attribute, and since anniversaries fall on different dates, reminders start to overlap — which is exactly the kind of thing that makes it easy to miss the day that actually matters. If the people you're remembering are different enough — a parent and a pet, say — keeping them apart makes each memory easier to hold onto clearly.
How many you can actually create
The free plan includes 1 memorial. Upgrading to Premium unlocks up to 5, enough to keep both parents and a pet in separate spaces if that's what makes sense for your family. The sample memorial shown during onboarding doesn't count toward this limit, so a free user can still start their own memorial without anything already taking up the one slot.
Practical ways to keep them straight
- Use specific names. "Mom" or "Dad," or a pet's actual name, is far easier to keep straight later than something vague.
- Give each one a distinct photo. A different cover photo for each memorial makes the list easy to scan at a glance.
- Check which memorial you're in before you write. Switching back and forth between memorials makes it easy to accidentally add an entry to the wrong one. The app shows which memorial is currently active, so it's worth a quick glance before you start writing.
Records stay put even if you stop Premium
If your memorial count goes over the free limit after Premium ends, the app shows only as many as your plan allows — starting with whichever you created first — and quietly hides the rest. Nothing is deleted. Restart Premium, and the hidden memorials come back in the same order, so there's no need to worry about losing anything.
